Lenten Season

REPENT and BELIEVE in the GOSPEL

Two meaningful yet challenging words.  This reminds me of my favorite parable in the Bible, The Story of the Prodigal Son.   The prodigal son represents a sinner who has drifted far away from his Father and who likewise decides to "GO HOME" and "MAKE UP" for failure by working extra hard for his father.  In that story,  there is the encounter with the same forgiving love first experienced at the moment of salvation. The Father is there with open arms and heart to all who come to HIM in repentance whether for the first or even million times. Therefore, if  we are living in sin - it is a must for us to REPENT and BELIEVE.  Turn from our sins so that we may experience the fullness of  HIS love and sodality.  When we are close to HIM, we always feel at PEACE and experience unceasing "RAGSAK".

The season of lent this year came early. The radio is on for the traditional "pasyon" (a kind of song commemorating the sufferings and death of Jesus) and the chance to reflect while listening "Dagiti 7 a Maudi a Balikas ni Apo Jesus ti Krus" (The Seven Last Words).  After that I joined in the "libut" (procession).  I grew up doing this kind of practice/tradition to show my great  love to Jesus.

After the commemoration of the passion of Christ, fasting and abstinence, here comes the inviting waves of the blue sea and white sand...nothing can beat the warm smiles and laughters when you're home.

When you find your place in God's loving embrace you will experience peace of mind and heart.  It is gratifying to wake up every morning and live your life with so much "ragsak".

"Live your life with a joyful heart!"

  1. We have watched a two-hour procession in Vigan at the Sy-Quia Mansion. Thanks to Dr. Cuanang of St. Luke's for including us together with his guests. Though Holy Week, there's so much things to do in Ilocos!

  2. Hi Dulce! Going home is always a great reliever for stress. We get to do things far from our everyday routine. Great you had a meaningful Holy Week with your hubby. (",)
