Ama Mi
Ama mi nga adda't sadi langit,
Madaydayaw kuma ti nagan mo.
Dumteng kuma ti pagariam,
Matungpal kuma ti nakemmo.
Ditoy daga a kas sadi langit,
Wen ditoy daga a kas sadi langit.
Itdem kadakam iti aldaw ditoy,
Ti kanen mi iti patinayon nga aldaw.
Pakawanem dagiti basolmi
Akas met iti pammakawan mi
Iti basol dagiti makabasol kadakami
Dinakam met baybay-an nga umannugot
Iti solisog
Isalakannakam iti dakes.
During weekends, when I was in grade school my father used to let me sing this song every night while massaging his back at night. It's the Ilocano version of Our Father (Ama Mi), usually sang by the Catholic churchgoers on Sundays during the Eucharistic celebration. It has different versions. I love this song! I feel at peace whenever I sing it or just humming the tune.
